Obituary
Obituary of Acha Ghevarghese
Acha was born in 1929. She married Ghevarghese Achen in 1959 and settled in Nedumbassery. They enjoyed a beautiful 55 years together. She had her first child, Tessy, in 1960 and her second, George, in 1970. She worked as an English and Social Studies teacher for many years at Mar Athanasius High School, Nedumbassery and was known as a kind and loving teacher.
Acha was a devout Christian who leaned on the Lord constantly and consistently throughout her life. She was very involved with Martha Mariyam Vanitha Samajam and would often speak in churches in her area. Her devotion to Christ was inspiring.
She was an incredibly sharp and clever woman who loved to read and learn well into her 90s. She loved autobiographies, particularly Nelson Mandela's The Long Walk to Freedom and would read the newspaper cover to cover every morning. Those who knew her considered her a walking encyclopedia.
She will deeply mourned by those who had the honor of knowing her. Her memory will be preserved in the heart of her family and friends.
Death is nothing else but going home to God, the bond of love will be unbroken for all eternity. - Mother Teresa
