Anil Paulose

Obituary of Anil Paulose

Anil Paulose was born in Tamilnadu, India, in 1972. Anil was the eldest child of the late C. Paulose and the late Dr. Annamma Paulose. From a young age, he had a love for the beautiful world around him and always sought to educate himself on all that God has created, a passion instilled in him by his beloved mother, who also served as his spiritual inspiration. Anil's deep connection to nature led him to pursue a Masters in Botany, after graduating from Breeks Memorial Anglo Indian High Secondary School. After which he went on to earn a PhD in Ecology from Bharathiar University. He would continue to be a lifelong learner, but always humble about his accolades.

In 1997, Anil married his longtime friend Elizabeth, and together they embarked on a journey to New York in 1998, where they would build their life for the next 26 years. Growing up together and sharing similar values, Anil and Elizabeth were rarely seen apart in both their personal and professional lives. Anil was not only a devoted husband but also a loving father to his daughters, Ann and Suzanne. He cherished his time with them, whether it was playing tennis, watching movies, or sharing his love for music and God. Known for his disciplined nature and mindfulness in every moment, Anil exuded optimism, patience, and genuine care.

From a young age, Anil was a hard worker and had a natural entrepreneurial spirit. After moving to New York, he and Elizabeth, established Reliance Insurance & Accounting Corp and would go on to become a major investor in several hotel chains across the country. However, he was more than a business partner, accountant, and insurance broker to all his clients – he was first a friend to everyone he knew. Every meeting with Anil, or Paul as many know him, would often evolve into profound discussions on spirituality and philosophy, fostering lasting bonds. His sincere empathy and concern for others was not confined to the office but radiated throughout his existence, touching all who knew him. As the President of the NY Chapter of the Global Indian Council, a non-profit organization, his goal was also to give back to the community. But he would always be the first to tell you that he attested all his successes to his foundation in Jesus Christ.

Anil's commitment to his faith was unwavering, and he instilled these values in his daughters, reminding them to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5). He actively participated in his church community, starting at Shalem Tabernacle Church and later as a member of Shelter Rock Church. Inspired by his mother's legacy, Anil continuously shared the message of Jesus Christ, embodying humility and kindness in his interactions with others.

On May 28, 2024, at age 51, he was called back home to the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, their daughters, Ann and Suzanne, and his brother Sunil and family. Anil's legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the values he imparted. His profound love for his family, his unwavering faith, and his commitment to serving others will continue to inspire all who knew him.
