Obituary of Howard C. Schubert
Howard Charles Schubert of Bellerose, New York, passed away at North shore University Hospital with loving family by his side, on Wednesday, March 20th 2024 at the age of 59. Howard, known lovingly as Howie, was born in Colorado springs, Colorado on April 13th, 1964, to Father Leslie, and Mother Susan.
Howie was a man of few words, but extremely wise, knowledgeable, and had the driest, most sarcastic sense of humor. Howie was a dedicated Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He was the most loyal man you could have ever known. His generosity and loyalty were unwavering. He always made everyone smile, even during hard times. He fought admirably till the very end.
Howie was a devoted Boy Scout of over 50 years. He joined pack 255 as a Cub, crossed over to Troop 255 serving as Patrol leader, Senior Patrol leader, Cubmaster, and the de facto Scoutmaster at 18 for three years before formally becoming the Scoutmaster of Troop 255 at 21. His dedication to scouting continued throughout his life eventually leading to him becoming the president of the Conron camp foundation. He generated many Eagle Scouts and he was awarded the Silver Beaver in 2011. He expanded the Conron Camp Foundation to become a true "family" program and formed the Conron Girl Scout Troops 4-236, 4-525, 4-625, 4-725 and 4-772 of which many Gold Awards have been achieved. He has created life long memories for children today, yesterday, and many more to come. Howie followed in his father’s footsteps from the age of 16 starting his first job as a gas boy at Team Systems Taxi Fleet. He worked his way up to Fleet Manager over a dedicated career of 40 plus years of loyalty.
Howie was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
