Obituary of Dorothy J. Tempia

Dorothy Josephine Tempia, 102, of Elmhurst, NY, passed away on August 11, 2023. She was born on July 27, 1921, in New York, NY, to Elizabeth and Anthony Catucci. Dorothy was a remarkable and strong woman who always put others before herself. She had a wonderful sense of humor even in her final days. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother.

Dorothy dedicated 40 years of her life to working at Consolidated Edison, where she eventually retired.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Lynn Edery and husband Tom, her granddaughter Lori Gauthier and husband Phil, her great-granddaughter Jessica McGowan and husband Kyle, her great-great-granddaughter Eliana, and her great-grandson Philip Gauthier and his fiancé Ana Bisciello. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Anthony Catucci, as well as her longtime companion, Henry Stamm.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the viewing on Friday, August 18th at 9AM, followed by a service at 10AM at the Park Funeral Chapel, located at 2175 Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park, NY. Following the viewing, interment will take place at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Bronx, NY, at 12 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Dorothy's memory. Her compassion and love for others can continue to make a difference through contributions to this worthy cause.

Dorothy Tempia will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
