An incredible person. Such an inspiration through her honesty, strength and courage. Was never afraid to be herself and had so much to give. I will never forget our talks about the importance of family, how much she encouraged me and how she always told me that no one should ever stop me from making my dreams come true. So many memories that I hold close to my heart.
Thank you Mrs. Affrunti, you have made such an incredible impact on my life and I know I will do great things because I knew you.
My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Affrunti, Anthony and Brian in this difficult time. Never forget how proud she was of you all here and how she continues to be proud of you watching from heaven.

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, Emily Jane Affrunti, loving wife and mother of two passed away due to complications from colon cancer.
Emily was born September 1st, 1948 to Dennis and Anne (Gallagher) Larkin and was the youngest of seven children. On June 19, 1971 she married Anthony Joseph Affrunti and they raised two sons Anthony and Brian.
Besides being a loving and loved wife and mother, Emily was a graduate of Long Island University and an avid reader and accomplished author which included being published in an appeal to the Supreme Court heard by the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a case concerning age discrimination. She worked as a bookkeeper for a myriad of companies. She had a love of horse racing which she shared not only with her parents but with her two sons. Her beloved moments included being in person to witness three Triple Crown winners in the 1970’s when Secretariat, Affirmed and Seattle Slew all swept the series and again in 2015 and 2018 for two more in American Pharoah and Justify. She partook in great excitement watching the early days of New York Islanders hockey from their inception in 1972, saw them grow to a dynasty in the early 1980’s and thoroughly enjoyed her air horn through it all. She loved animals particularly her late dog Snoopy. She loved the beach. She loved her family and gave of herself selflessly to see them happy. That love carries on.
