Obituary of Jean S. Muff

Jean Schnell Muff, 91, of East Meadow, passed away at her home on January 3, 2023. Born in Queens and raised in Glendale, Jean was a proud graduate of PS 113, Richmond Hill High School, Hunter College, and later Adelphi University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1984. Jean is preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years and lifelong partner James (Jim) Muff, her parents Lillian Sayer Schnell and Harry Schnell and her son-in-law Daniel T. Nolan. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Muff Nolan, and son, Bruce James Muff and wife Elizabeth; four grandchildren: Anne Sayer Nolan McCamy and husband Robert, Katherine Flynn Nolan, Scott William Muff, and Christopher James Muff; and one great-granddaughter, Lillian Mae McCamy. Jean is also survived by dear friend and sister-in-law, Marilyn Muff Perduto. Jean’s life will be celebrated at a future date when family and friends are able to gather at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Garden City. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Queen’s New York.
