Obituary of Nancy Cervini

Nancy Cervini passed away peacefully at her home in Garden City on September 6, 2022. She is survived by her son, John Cervini, Jr. (Susan); daughter, Linda Cervini, granddaughters Katelyn Cervini and Alexandra Mull (Christian) and sister, Anna Frezza. She was proceeded in death by her husband John Cervini, Sr., to whom she was married for over 70 years. Nancy was the family matriarch and dedicated to her family and friends. Born on March 15, 1931 in Ripi, Italy, Nancy moved to the United States when she was 16 years old in 1947. She married her husband, John, in 1949 and they built their home in Garden City over 60 years ago and remained there until her death. Nancy devoted her life to raising her two children, and supporting her husband John Sr. in running his company. She ensured that at the end of the day, John came home to a nice dinner, a happy family and a beautiful home. Nancy loved to cook, teaching her grandchildren how to make Italian specialties, was an avid bridge player, and she had a passion for discussing politics and spending hours talking at the kitchen table giving life advice to those who listened. Not only was she smart and witty, even in her later years, she provided the best life advice and guidance drawing on her own life experiences. She loved hosting family and friends for dinners and parties that include delicious homecooked meals and wine. Nancy loved New York City, taking her family to Broadway shows every Thanksgiving, creating wonderful memories for the whole family. She always would lend an ear and words of support to those who needed it and cared deeply for her friends and family. A dedicated Catholic, Nancy was also very involved with her church, St. Anne’s, and the St. Anthony DI Padova. Nancy will be missed by her family and friends, but her unwavering love and wisdom will be remembered and cherished by those who knew her. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Hospice at Northwell Health and St. Anne’s Parish in Garden City.
