Obituary of Frank Wilson Gretar Henderson

We are saddened to share that Frank Wilson Gretar Henderson, of Garden City, NY passed away on December 4, 2021. He is survived by his wife LaVonne to whom he’s been married for 56 years and shared his life, and his two daughters Lynne Henderson and Melanie Henderson. Frank grew up in Florida and New York. His father, Frank Jasper Henderson Sr, and his mother Sigridur Eyja Henderson owned and operated an import/export business between Iceland and the US. After high school, Frank served in the Navy during which time he met his wife. They lived in Chicago and Atlantic City, until moving to New York to work and raise a family. Frank had a long and successful career at Unisys, receiving many awards and recognition for his commitment to delivering high client satisfaction and many years of service. Frank loved learning new things, and had particular interests in world cultures and traveling. He spoke often of his travels to Japan, parts of Europe, and Iceland. Frank was also an audiophile with a love for music and sound systems. The funeral with military honors is scheduled for January 4, 2022 at 11:30am in the Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11933.
