Obituary of Dardinella T. Poblocki

On July 31, 2021 the angels took Dardinella Theresa Stella Poblocki, of Garden City Park, New York, home to heaven, peacefully in her sleep, she was 96. She was born in Corona, Queens, NY on August 17, 1924. The story she told us her whole life was that the midwife did not get to the hospital to record the birth until August 22, so that is the date on her birth certificate. We celebrated both birthdays every year. If you missed the 17th, it was okay because you could still celebrate on the 22nd. Dardinella was married to her dance partner and love of her life, Alfons for over 50 years and was widowed in June 2008. Dardinella is survived by her daughter Yvonne, and son Alfons Jr., daughter Felicia and son-in-law Tom Haran.; grandson Thomas, his wife Haley and great-granddaughter Olivia Rose; granddaughter Shevaun, husband Colin Watkins and great-grandson Declan Joseph; grandson Patrick, and grandson Garrett and his wife Sierra. Dardinella leaves two surviving siblings Emerald Joy Fauci and Richard Thomas Vitarelle and numerous nieces and nephews. Dardinella was a dancer in her heart and soul. She taught everyone in the family to dance, or at least tried to and you could never say no to her. Every member of the family was her dance partner at some point in their lives. She also loved to garden and if you went on a walk with her, she would take a clipping from a shrub or plant she wanted and plant it in the ground when she got home. We were always shocked that they always grew. She loved travelling with her daughter, Yvonne and they went on many trips together; she also loved swimming, camping, hiking, and cooking. She will be sorely missed and will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
