Obituary
Obituary of Amelia E. Frezza
Amelia, better known as Emily, was a gentle, caring woman. She was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, married and raised her two daughters there. She was a dressmaker by trade and a homemaker by love. She and her beloved husband, Thomas, moved to Wappinger’s Falls, New York to live near her elder daughter, Connie, and her son-in-law, Leo. Upon Thomas’ passing in 1995, she moved to live with her younger daughter, Laura, her son-in-law, Richard, and her granddaughter, Marissa.
Emily had a vibrant social life on Long Island and loved attending all the activities at the Uniondale-Hempstead Senior Center. She took great pride in her role as Historian for the group, in assisting with the monthly birthday and anniversary celebrations and in the trips with this group of lively mature adults. She also enjoyed travelling with her family and we have many, many happy memories of special excursions on cruises. She loved music and dancing, from the night she met her husband at age 16 well through the dancefloor of her granddaughter’s wedding. She could be counted on to jump into any impromptu dancing or offer a song to pass the time.
Emily was very proud of her family and found renewed joy in meeting her great-grandchildren, Luke in 2014 and Jordana in 2019. She spent the last years of her life peacefully at the Queen of Peace Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor in Queens Village, New York.
In lieu of flowers, Amelia’s family gratefully request a donation be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
