Uncle Frankie
I wish I could wrap up all the memories, life lessons, and love my uncle Frankie gave me and gift them to everyone I meet.
I wish I could fully express my gratitude. I will say now that I was and am so unbelievably fortunate that Frank Clerici was my uncle.
From the way he would say “Anything for my girls. I’ll make you anything you want just tell me and I’ll make it for you.”
To finding him wiped out on the couch to old westerns after a long day.
Anyone who knows my uncle Frankie knows of his unstoppable drive to take care of anyone and everyone at any chance he got.
People like Frankie are so rare and precious that when they’re gone they still remind us through the empty spaces in our days where they used to be. It has been hard for me to process this great of a loss. But seeing my cousins grow in my uncle’s image is so encouraging.
I know I will always find him in their crinkled-eyed laughs,
Their strength in the face of hardship
And their suffocating squeeze-hugs at the end of every visit.
If there is one thing everyone should know about the Clerici family is that they will give the ones they love every piece of themselves all day every day until they’re wiped out on the couch with the TV on.
Uncle Frankie, I hope you know that you are so loved by all of us. I will hold all of our memories so close to me forever. All I can say right now is thank you for being my uncle Frankie.

Frankie,
I was never good in expressing my feelings about you. I never said that I love you but I remembered one time you did tell me that you did love me.
Finally, I smile because you’re my brother.
I laugh because there’s nothing you can do about it.
