Obituary of Bruna Mary Rizzi
Rizzi - Bruna Mary, born in Melrose Park, Illinois and raised in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the age of 86. She lived for many years in Woodside, Queens, New York before moving to Westbury in 1987. She was intelligent, hard working and gregarious - a talented legal secretary and homemaker, who returned to work at JPMorgan Chase after raising her family in a late career she embraced with pride. Bruna was fiercely proud of her Northern Italian-Tyrolean heritage and was a long-standing member of the Club Trentino New York. She was a woman with a strong Catholic faith. She and her husband, Romano, who died in 2008, travelled often to Italy and all over the world. Bruna Mary is survived by her children, Dan and Theresa, their spouses, Susan and George, and her grandchildren, Danny and Jimmy, her only sister, Anna Marie DaGrosa, and many many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in whose lives Bruna was a wonderful bright spirit. Bruna was also recently predeceased by her first cousin, Irene Falcone of Hazleton. Viewing hours will be held on Sunday, September 17th from 2 pm-4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm at Park Funeral Chapels, 2175 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park, NY 11040. Funeral will be held on Monday, September 18th with Mass celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, 75 Post Avenue, Westbury, New York 11590 with internment at The Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.
