Velma and I first met when we both worked at Queens-Nassau Nursing Home. We both ended up working together in SCU at Peninsula Hospital as well. Great person and co-worker, they don't come any more compassionate
and hardworking than Velma. I think one of her sons worked with us too. Hugs to all of her family members.

SHE IS HOME!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to every member of the Crichlow family! The Williams family mourns with you!
Though you may not understand why she had to go, try to understand that she has been called home by her heavenly father!
So while we all mourn, we also need to rejoice and celebrate her and the many days of life that God gave her on this planet. She was blessed!
She has left many of her great qualities with her children, grandchildren, many family members and friends!

On behalf of the children, grand children, great grand-children and in-laws of Gregoria Sampson (Aunty Velma's sister) i extend condolences to Uncle Boysin, Larry, Karen and Robert, and her grand children and in-laws, on the passing of Aunty Velma. May God's grace and mercy give you strength to carry on at this difficult time. May you find comfort in the many pleasant memories she left with you all. God in his infinite wisdom has called you home to be with him. I will miss you dearly.
I know though , that your presence will be felt every day , when I look around at your handy work. I will cherish the times we spent together , especially the times spent shopping for our Christmas decorations.
I will miss you sitting at your work station making magic decorations for my tree. How you would call me from your home telling me of all the ideas you had for my tree . How I would come to pick you up , and you had put together your tools and any little thing that you thought I might like. You paid so much attention to the smallest detail I could not keep up with you. I would sneak away to catch some shut eye , but you were like the energizer bunny , you just kept going and going and going. I will miss you so so much.

Bobby and Larry, I wish to express my sincere regrets to the two of you regarding the loss of your mother. Mrs. Crichlow was a very special person. She was a loving mother and one of the best nurses that I have ever had the opportunity to meet. Her loss will be felt in a very large way not just at the hospitals she worked and cared for so many years but the entire Springfield Garden Community. Again I wish to extend my condolences to you and the entire Crichlow family at this time. I extend my hands to the two of you during this unfortunate time. Kareen, Shareen, Brandon and Shannon, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother and grandmother. Mrs. Crichlow was a pillow of her community and the type of mother that words can not fully describe. Her love for her children is the type of love we should all emulate. She has given so much to each of you. Her talents, intellect, and beauty were passed on to each of you. My advice to each of you is that you remember the many life lessons that Mrs. Crichlow taught each of you during her 81 years of life she had here on earth. Her life and legacy is not one that just touched Trinidad, Queens and Maryland but much further. This time is not pleasant for any of us but God said that he would never leave or forsake us. Her smile just made all who met her know that she was a Godly woman filled with the Holy Spirit. She is at peace now and not in pain anymore. Her life and legacy will live on today and forevermore.
