Josephine Seta

Obituary of Josephine Seta

Josephine Seta –was “Joseta” to all her friends and “Jo-Jo” to her sister. She was born in East Harlem, New York City on July 23, 1929, and on a personal note, she threated her sister or anyone else who dare tell her age. Occupation: Key punch operator for the City of New York, a homemaker and a line dance instructor. Hobbies: Line dancing, arts and crafts, baking and cooking, entertaining, and cheering her son on in all his sporting activities. Clubs: Red Hatters Club, Celini Lodge and Knights of Columbus. Josephine loved to sing and dance with her sister Joan. And she loved to hear: “Josephine from Evergreen, the prettiest lady we’ve ever seen” Josephine was very social and hospitable to family, friends and neighbors. She was outgoing and thrived on parties and social events. She loved wearing costumes and always dressed well. While she might have been “small” in stature (because she hated to be called short) she was larger than life and she could change the mood of a room with just her presence. She was a good wife, a good mother and a wonderful sister. On the other hand, she was a very obstinate and stubborn lady and always held firm in her beliefs. For example, she was thrown out of a little league baseball game for razzing an umpire who she felt was blind and was calling a bad game while her son was pitching. Josephine was married to Peter Seta for 54 years. She is survived by her husband Peter, her son Richard, her daughter-in-law Laura and three grandchildren, Shane, Logan & Rylee; her nephew Frankie and great nephew Frankie Jr, and her sister Joan, her partner Fanny, and many other relatives and friends.
