I remember you and your family so well from the times you'd been to the PICU at NYU. You were so strong, brave, cooperative and always had a smile on your face. It was always a pleasure to take care of you.
My heart truly feels heavy upon hearing this news. Rest In Peace, Sam.

Dear Sam,
I am so sorry that I didn't get to see you when you got back to 9 east. I got your video messages and I will cherish them always. You will always be my favorite patient and I always loved being your nurse. I loved your sense of humor, ambition, infectious personality and your smile! Our relationship developed into a friendship that I will miss dearly. You were a great friend and you always listened to all my crazy wedding stories and you always made me laugh. I will love and miss you always but I know your spirit will never leave me. I'll never forget when I bought you a lottery ticket for your birthday and it actually won. I guess I wasn't really lucky until I met you. To your mom, dad, brother, and sister: May God Bless all of you. I loved getting to know you and taking care of Sam. Hoping you can find solace by remembering that Sam does not have to suffer anymore. Hope Roxy enjoys the house Sam had built for her! Love to all always and forever!!!! Blaire

I will never forget you SAM and your beautiful family... I was the first to meet you at NYU almost 4 years ago...Your smile won me over... your incredible warm and witty personality just added to your attributes! I can not tell you and your family how much I appreciated every minute I had knowing you and taking care of you as a nurse! It was such a full circle to be your last nurse in your fight... You fought so hard and did everything you could do to overcome this burden. Your courage and determination will never be forgotten. Your life ended way too soon...but your spirit will always be present on 9 EAST and in my heart. I will never forget my SPECIAL BOY! You taught me strength, perseverance and unconditional love. You are now our angel in heaven FREE of pain, struggles, hospitals and medications! Gob Bless You Sam, I love and miss you dearly! May God Bless your Mom, Dad, sister, brother and ALL of your family members that I grew to love and admire for their strong dedication!
