I've known Jim for over 30 years through the Young Adult Ministry in Notre Dame. Jim was very pleasant to talk with on the phone . I will miss all the cards he sent me,but most all his friendship. May he rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Jim's Family. I remember meeting Jim when I was in my early 20s at the Notre Dame Young Adult group. I am now in my late 40s He was always very kind to all and we would have such wonderful conversations. We had so many good times in those days. Through the years he would always come to the Easter Breakfast at the diner to meet up with the old gang with such a bright smile on his face. He will be missed. May he be at peace. God has given us one more angel to watch over all us.

Dear U Jim,
For your kindness, generosity, and sweetness, we remember you and hold you in our hearts, today and always. For our shared love of taking down Oreos (and various other assorted cookies) by the package and jumping in puddles after the rain. For the forty-six years of volunteer service to the fire department and living your life by virtue and value. For Peanuts, Snoopy and the gang, and the wisdom in keeping things simple. For family. For everything.
Love. Love. Love.

It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve in the Rescue Company along side Jim Cleary. He has been an inspiration and a friend, and his family honors me by posting the portrait I took of him in his Class A uniform on his memorial. I carry you in my heart, always.
